JIC Trade Corporation's Commitment to the SDGs
Adopted at the UN Summit in September 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were set forth by the 193 member countries of the UN to be achieved over the 15 years from 2016 to 2030.The SDGs consist of 17 major goals, listed in the table below, and 169 specific targets to achieve those goals The SDGs are.
JIC Trade Co., Ltd. will continue to think about what we can do on a daily basis and actively engage in SDG activities. The following is a summary of the activities that we carry out through the import and sale of honey at our company.

We who live in Japan are surrounded by processed honey with an emphasis on productivity. Original honey is what makes us healthy and enriches our lives. We value our appreciation of nature's bounty and propose a lifestyle in harmony with nature as we promote natural honey from Uzbekistan in Japan. Consumption of genuine honey also protects the local honey culture, history, and the economic activities of honey producers.

Honey bee numbers are declining year after year worldwide. Even in Uzbekistan, honey producers were unable to work as usual due to the lockdown and movement restrictions of the Corona disaster, and honey died in large numbers (according to exporter Uzbek Honey). Natural honey production is integrated into the natural world and is vulnerable to external anthropogenic forces, which can quickly upset the balance. Our consumption of natural honey supports the original honey production and, as a result, protects the bee ecology.

We will strive to keep abreast of foreign policy developments in both Japan and Uzbekistan, and in particular contribute to the initiatives under the Partner City Agreement between Nagoya and Tashkent (signed on December 18, 2019). We will also lay the foundation for exchange in all areas, while deepening our relationship with local honey producers.
